We are thrilled that our club web site has been live for several years and has gradually increased in content since we first published it in April 2011. A very special thank you to David Crowle. David was our Chairman until the beginning of 2012 and he was very keen to see our club modernise. This included having our very own web site. Many thanks David and to all of our Committee for their great ideas and support.

The Whitestone Beer and Wine Club was founded over 40 years ago on the 23rd of January 1979 by a small group of friends who made and brewed their own wines and beers. The very first meeting was held in the Hayrick public house (now renamed as The White Stone) in Meadowside Avenue, Nuneaton, and later in the members own homes. Our first constitution was compiled on the 6th February 1979 and has changed very little since. A social side quickly developed with visits to small breweries, and festivals were held in the Trinity Centre in Nuneaton. In later years these friends have been joined by others with more of an interest in tasting and learning about different drinks and also to take part in the excellent social side that the club has to offer. Today we have a very healthy mix of makers and imbibers.

We have always been a very popular and friendly club with over 70 members and are based in the Whitestone area, close to Nuneaton, Warwickshire, England. Our monthly meetings are always very well attended and usually attract between 55 to 60 members plus the occasional guests.

Our aim is to provide a club where everyone feels welcome and comfortable. We all share a common interest in tasting wine or beer and we also regard our club as a place for meeting and making new friends. There is always a very friendly atmosphere and all are welcome, whether beginners or experienced brewers or vintners or just for the social side.

Whether you consider yourself a novice or a wine and beer buff, you don't need to be an expert to come and join us, or just visit our meetings. Our evenings focus on trying and enjoying new things as well as learning, and most months we have an interesting guest speaker. The subject is not often connected with beer or wine, but always very entertaining.

Fortunately our club is exceptionally popular and we are currently closed to new memberships as we have now reached the maximum number we can comfortably accommodate at our present venue. New members are always welcome; however, at this time there may be a small waiting list. Please don't be put off by this; if you live locally, put your name forward and we will contact you as soon as a place becomes available.

Our annual membership fee is currently only £10 per person with no additional costs, unless you wish to take advantage of some of the special events that we organise throughout the year. Some of these are free to attend or are separately priced and always very affordable.

Our monthly meetings usually begin with a social period where our members share their wine or beer in conversation. This is usually followed by a guest speaker, raffle and supper. All we ask of each member is that at each monthly meeting they bring along a bottle of wine for the shared wine table and food to add to the American Supper table.

You can also click on the map button on the "Where we are" page to find us or send us an email from the "Contact Us" page. Please be patient, this is our hobby, and we are not always available to reply immediately to your emails.
